On 8 December Stine A. Bosheim, coordinator of the PRIO Centre on Gender, Peace and Security gave a guest lecture at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences on Gender in Peace and conflict. The lecture was a part of the course "War, Peace and Peacebuilding" and was given to second year bachelor's students.
The lecture was followed by the formal ending of a pilot project the PRIO GPS Centre has been taking part in. The pilot project aimed at increasing students' awareness of different approaches to working on topics related conflict, peace and peacebuilding as well as giving some insight into what the work may entail. The pilot also intended to connect potential future employers and the students and give the students some insights to both institutions, organizations and others working on the topics of war and peace.
Stine, representing the GPS Centre, was a mentor for two student groups. They were given the task to aid the Norwegian MFA in their development of a new National Action Plan (NAP) on Women, Peace and Security (WPS).
The pilot was a co-organized project between Ungt Entrepenørskap and Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences. NOREF, Nansen Centre for Peace and Dialogue and a political scientist working on crime prevention with the Inland Police District took part in the pilot together with PRIO GPS Centre as mentors.
