Torunn L. Tryggestad, Director of the PRIO Centre on Gender, Peace and Security, was interviewed about feminist foreign policy

Torunn L. Tryggestad was interviewed by the German news website, Der Spiegel, commenting on the German ministry of foreign affairs' recently launched feminist foreign policy. In the interview with Der Speigel, Tryggestad talked about experiences from the Scandinavian countries with a special reference to Norway and former foreign minister Ine Eriksen Søreide.

"She never spoke of feminism. Nevertheless, she has made more women ambassadors and ensured that more women are involved in peace negotiations. In addition, she has ensured that women are also involved in the UN Security Council when it comes to security issues. The bottom line was that it was clearly feminist".
