Research Interests

My current research is situated in critical security studies, postcolonial studies, gender studies and peace and development research. The primary focus is on surveillance technologies and national biometric schemes in Europe and South Asia, and the role of digital data in different governance domains. I am interested in empirically grounded studies of the relationship between governing rationales and forms of appropriation in sites of implementation. I furthermore research non-violence and peace traditions in Europe and India.
