Delegates from Mali gave a presentation of the Project RECAFEVEC, which aims strengthen the capacity of women as agents of change for peace and inclusive development in Mali. Participants also said that prior to the project, women were poorly represented, while after the following the introduction of the project women have obtained had an increased participation During roundtable discussion that followed, participants discussed efforts to promote women’s leadership in peace and reconciliation processes in Mali from coordinators and participants of the Project RECAFEVEC and discuss lessons learned and future possibilities for promoting women’s inclusion and leadership in peace and reconciliation processes in the region.
The roundtable was opened by PRIO deputy director and GPS director Torunn L. Tryggestad and was organized in relation to a project run by Jenny Lorentzen, NUPI.
