On Monday 9 December PRIO GPS Centre director Torunn L. Tryggestad participated at the regional expert meeting on Women in Peace and Security Efforts – Perspectives from Southeast Europe and Ukraine, in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

The regional expert meeting on Women, Peace and Security Efforts - Perspectives from Southeast Europe and Ukraine, was organised by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs in Slovenia, in collaboration with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This was the third regional expert meeting (previous regional events took place in 2018 and 2023) aimed at the exchange of views and experiences, good practices and lessons learned, on the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda between Slovenia and Norway, as well as with national and civil society experts in different fields from Southeast Europe and Ukraine. Organisations such as UN Women and the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) were also represented at the expert meeting, which gathered around 60 participants.

PRIO GPS Centre director Torunn L. Tryggestad chaired a session on Women as agents of prevention and accountability, with speakers from Croatia, Kosovo, Ukraine and the OSCE.
