The event featured compelling talks from activists, researchers, and representatives from conflict-affected regions to spotlight women’s roles in peacebuilding and resilience.

One of the morning's thought-provoking contributions came from Júlia Palik, Senior Researcher at PRIO (Peace Research Institute Oslo), who presented key insights from research. Her talk, titled "Women Making and Sustaining Peace: Insights from Research," explored how women's participation in peace processes not only enhances inclusivity but leads to more sustainable peace outcomes.

“Research shows that when women are involved in peace negotiations, agreements are more likely to last,” Palik emphasized, highlighting data-driven evidence of women's often-overlooked impact in post-conflict reconstruction and reconciliation efforts.

The event also featured accounts from field workers in Ukraine, Sudan, and Norway, illustrating the real-world challenges and triumphs faced by women on the frontlines of conflict and peacebuilding. These included insights into women’s organizing efforts, experiences in demining, and stories of survival and solidarity.

Hosted by Milena Tevanovic of Norsk Folkehjelp, the event served as a powerful reminder that women's rights and contributions are central not just to justice, but to lasting peace — in Norway and beyond.
