On 4 November, a special issue of the Norwegian-language journal Internasjonal Politikk was launched at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI). Titled “25 Years of Women, Peace and Security in Nordic Foreign Policy”, the issue examines how the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda has shaped foreign policy across the Nordic countries.
The special issue brings together contributions from scholars from all five Nordic countries. PRIO researchers Torunn L. Tryggestad and Inger Skjelsbæk served as guest editors, together with Jenny Lorentzen (NUPI). They co-authored the introductory article and also contributed individual articles to the issue.
The launch event included a panel discussion on the development of the WPS agenda in Nordic foreign policy. Torunn L. Tryggestad, Director of PRIO’s Centre on Gender, Peace and Security, participated as one of the panelists, with a particular focus on Norway’s role in advancing the WPS agenda internationally.
A recording of the launch event, held in Norwegian, is available on NUPI’s YouTube channel.
