On 16 June, members of Nordic Women Mediators Network Norway gathered at PRIO for a members' meeting featuring a presentation by Hilde Katrine Haug, Deputy Head of the Council of Europe Office in Ukraine.
Drawing on her experience from Kyiv, Haug reflected on working under the current security conditions and how the Council of Europe Office has adapted its work to strengthen Ukraine's democratic resilience through support for good governance, the rule of law and human rights. She also highlighted efforts to support vulnerable groups affected by the war, advance gender equality, prevent gender-based violence, and promote the Women, Peace and Security agenda in Ukraine.
The meeting also marked the final NWM–Norway gathering with Ms. Signe Gilen in her role as Norway's Special Envoy on Women, Peace and Security, before she takes up a new position as Minister Councillor at the Norwegian Embassy in Addis Abeba to cover the African Union.
