How can we further progress the work to promote women’s participation and influence over decision-making on peace and security in the United Nations Security Council? That was the key question addressed in a roundtable discussion jointly organized by PRIO, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and NUPI on September 7.

The roundtable was part of a Dialogue Forum series aimed to strategically strengthen the goal of a knowledge-based foreign policy in relation to Norway's membership in the Security Council. The roundtable meetings are organized around central themes and issues relating to the Security Council agenda and Norway's membership. The inclusion of women has been a key priority throughout Norway's Council term.

From PRIO, Siri Aas Rustad, Birthe Einen, Wenche Iren Hauge, Louise Olsson, Pinar Tank, Torunn Tryggestad, and Henrik Urdal contributed to the conduct of the roundtable.
