On February 3rd, PRIO took part in the event “From Paper to Practice: How UN Security Council Language on Women, Peace, and Security is Implemented in Conflict-affected Contexts,” hosted by The Permanent Missions of Kenya, Norway, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates, in addition to the United Nations University Centre for Policy Research (UNU-CPR), UN Women, and PRIO.

Louise Olsson and Patty Chang presented a model for analyzing the implementability of Women, Peace, and Security language in regular resolutions and initial results from a project tracking the progress of implementability in the period 2015-2021.

Following the event – on International Women's Day 2022 –, Sophie Buddenhorn (UNU-CPR), Pablo Castillo-Díaz (UN Women), Patty Chang (PRIO), Cristal Downing (UNU-CPR), Louise Olsson (PRIO), and Sofía Rivas (Managing Exits from Armed Conflict) reflected on the outcomes of the event discussions, particularly as they related to challenges we face in translating WPS from paper to practice.
